The Olympics Games are a global phenomenon that\u00a0showcases the pinnacle of athletic achievement across a multitude of sports.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tennis, a sport of agility, precision and endurance, has a unique place within the Olympics,\u00a0inspiring countless young athletes to pick up a racket<\/strong>\u00a0and a dream of Olympic glory.<\/p>\n

Since when have the Olympic Games been held and why?<\/h2>\n

The modern Olympic Games\u00a0were first held in 1896 in Athens, Greece,\u00a0<\/strong>reviving an ancient tradition that dates back to 776 BC.
\nThe modern Olympics were established by Pierre de Coubertin, who sought to promote peace and unity through sports and to revive the spirit of ancient Greek athleticism.
\nHis vision was to\u00a0bring together the world\u2019s best athletes in a peaceful competition<\/strong>\u00a0that would foster international camaraderie and physical excellence.<\/p>\n

More than 200 nations participate in the Olympics,<\/strong>\u00a0and the games are held every four years, alternating between the Summer and the Winter Olympics. It includes\u00a0 a lot of sports from track and field to swimming and, of course, tennis.<\/p>\n

When were the first Olympic Games held?<\/h2>\n

The first modern Olympic Games were in\u00a0Athens, Greece, in the year 1896.\u00a0<\/strong>This was a symbolic choice, as it linked the modern games to their ancient roots.
\nAthenes, in that year, welcomed 241 athletes from 14 countries, competing in 43 events across 9 sports. Look how it has been improved now!<\/p>\n

Tennis categories in the Olympics Games<\/h2>\n

Tennis was part of the Olympics from the inaugural modern games in 1896 until 1924, after which it was removed due to disputes between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Lawn Tennis Federation (ILFT).
\nIt made a return as a demonstration sport in 1968 and 1984 and\u00a0was reinstated as a full medal sport in 1988.<\/strong>
